LÄRABAR Review

Update: Contest Over

Up today is the oh so delicious and (mostly) paleo friendly Lara Bars. If you somehow have not heard of they are a brand of energy bar made from fruit, nuts and spices.  Larabar’s are made from whole foods and each flavor contains no more than nine ingredients. They were created by Lara Merriken during a hike in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. She wanted to create a “very healthy product that tasted delicious”. In that regard Lara hit a home run.

Since going paleo I’ve had my fair share of LaraBars. They are delicious and convenient. They are great on hikes and on the run. I used to pack out my kits, Bug Out Bags and Get Home Bags, with cliff bars. While Cliffbars definitely fill the yummy category they fall woefully short on the healthy and nutritious category. I was struggling to find food to fill the niche of Cliff Bars that would fit my new Paleo lifestyle when I stumbled on larabars. They are, with a few exceptions,  gluten free, dairy, Non GMO, Soy free, raw and vegan too. Yeah I’m not concerned with the Vegan part, hell I’d love a bacon larabar.

Currently there are 22 flavors in the Larabar lineup. I’ve had 11 of those 22 and have enjoyed all but one flavor. Cashew. I found cashew of be disgusting at best and well we will leave it at that. My all time favorites are Key lime and Lemon with Banana bread gaining favor after sampling it for this contest. But they are all so delicious. I did think of a flavor I would love to see come out and now is the perfect time. I want a pumpkin pie bar! If you buy them by the case the cost becomes pretty awesome around a buck a piece.

Are you hungry now? I am and I ate all my larabars. Want to win an awesome sample pack of Larabars? This is what you have to do. If somehow you’re not a subscriber already sign up Here. Next leave a comment on this blog post. That’s it! Easy as a Key Lime Larabar eh. Also to clear things up because i had not explicitly stated them. The contest runs from the time it is published, which is promptly at 7am Monday-Friday, until Midnight. At midnight I use a random number generator app on my phone and the comment (counted from first person to comment as 1) that corresponds with that number wins. Also Please do not double comment. It does not help your chances in fact it kinda hurts them. If the number picked lands on your second comment I re-roll. One last piece If you win this contest check out this page it shows all the flavors. Pick four and include in your email with your address.

NOW WHO WANT SOME YUMMY LARABARS! LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS! GOOD LUCK!

  1. Ironic. I just started my Larabar review stream.

You can send any cashew bars to me, I love em. My fav has to be Coconut Cream Pie. Wait, I mean Banana Bread. No, Tropical Fruit Tart.

Well, how about “I don’t care for Cherry Pie, but really like the rest” 🙂
