OPSGear Defensive Tactics DVD’s

We’re kicking off week two of the National Preparedness Month of giveaways with a Bang! Up today is a three set defensive tactics DVD set from OPSGear. The DVD’s are hosted by David Burnell founder of OPS Gear, a veteran of the Air Force and a National Tae Kwon Do champion. Included in the giveaway are Defensive Tactics volume 1,2 and 3. The combined run time is over three and a half hours. They feature live person demonstrations so you can see real life responses and interactions. The DVD’s are all shot and edited in high definition.

David has a great teaching style. He adds a lot of fun and humor to the topic. I really appreciate the entertainment he adds, too many training videos are so boring I can’t focus enough to learn anything from them.  The whole group of instructors in the video were all good sports. Some of the training looked uncomfortable at best and down right painful at worst.

The instructors conveyed a real sense of knowledge and mastery over these techniques. The moves are showed slowly and explained well so you can fully understand them. Techniques are taught for any possible situation you can imagine.

The first DVD is on  Principles and covers topics such as training warm up, Breaking contact, Redirecting energy, center of balance, joint manipulation and much much more. The second DVD is on Techniques and covers topics on commando technique, defensive crawl, jamming, belt grab escapes, choke escapes and more! The  Last DVD is on Edged weapons and focuses on all aspects of dealing with edged weapon encounters.

These videos are pretty amazing and I have no doubt they could save your life in a violent encounter. I would recommend anyone wanting to improve their survivability in these situations to pick up this set. I also implore the contest  winner and anyone with these to actually practice the techniques. Like I said these are entertaining DVD’s but watching alone will not help you. You MUST practice this.
