Crossfit At Home

My paleo journey has led me to looking into crossfit. Some of you may be wondering what is Crossfit, what is has to do with Survival and why you should care about it. I believe I can convince you that it is a survival topic and one worth looking into. With over 7,000 gyms, called boxes, in the US I’m sure there is one near you but for today I’m going to show you how to get started at home. To get started you will not need any equipment only a desire to become more fit.  So get ready and let’s jump into the world of crossfit.

Prepping For Zombies

Today I’m going to have a little fun. My goal today is to share some tactics to implore in preparing to survive a zombie apocalypse. But you say James zombies aren’t real. Well yes I know this but zombies are fun to think about. In fact zombies was a gateway drug into prepping for me. My life long affair with post apocalyptic and zombie movies. Something about them always drew me in. Other horror movies could not grab my attention. Zombies are a thinking mans monster. If you are a Tokyo pedestrian during a Godzilla rampage, well you’re screwed. Same thing with most other monsters. With zombies though the scenarios are always about people trying to survive. Zombies are slow moving and stupid with an all consuming desire to eat. We won’t delve into in this post but they represent many metaphors I will chat about over beers. After years of watching the movies and thinking about what I would do I eventually stumbled onto a certain internet forum about zombie survival and went down the rabbit hole of survivalisim. I soon realized many of my “plans” were completely idiotic. Now that I know better I can revise those early plans. Today I’ll share some tips with you on how you can survive a real zombie apocalypse.

Backup Files, The Cloud And You

One of the main reason for the lack of updates recently was my laptop troubles. It became unstable and would often not turn on. I borrowed one from my brother and was able to get some posts out but still had issues. Mine was set up to be efficient on writing articles and I was used to it. The keys were all in the wrong place on the borrowed one and I made even more spelling errors than normal. I was holding out till this past weekend, that was tax free, to get a new laptop and continue writing. I still have some work to do to get used to the new one and set it up. So far I’m hating windows 8 by the way. besides having to buy a new one though the old one dying didn’t bother me very much. Normally it means the loss of data and valuable things. With me I didn’t have that problem and I will share with you what I did to make my system prepared for a failure.

YouTube Roundup

I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube lately and found a few great new channels to watch. You can definitely see a theme in the channels in this list. I’ve been watching a lot on off grid home and building. You might even say I’m obsessed with it. Let’s get into the list so you can start enjoying them.

Don’t Tell Too Much

Today were going to discuss a little Operational Security. I don’t go down that hole too much, I’m pretty public which I have to be for the site. There are a few tips to help you out though. What prompted this post was a friend of mine on facebook. She has a habit of posting her daily activities. I think this is a terrible idea and I’m going to tell you why.
