Hello again!

How many of you do laundry? How many of you pinch pennies? How many of you want to combine those two pastimes into one brilliant idea?! Homemade Laundry Detergent! Yes!

I cannot remember the last time I bought detergent, but it wasn’t cheap. Long ago I went on a mission to figure out what I could make myself to save us money, and this was at the top of my list. Two boxes of powder and a bar of soap later, I had a slimy, goopy mess. But boy does it clean!

*There are a million and one ways to do this. We originally came across this on the Duggar’s family website, and since I have seen at least a dozen recipes with the same basic ingredients.*

Just a quick link today to a guy that has saved me tons of money. About a year ago I heard about a guy making his shaving razors last SIX MONTHS! At the price replacements are selling for I figured I’d give it a shot.

The basic premise is to take an old pair of blue jeans and run the blade along it 20 times up and 20 times down. This essential hones the blade before every shave. Also you want to try to dry the razor off as much as possible after each shave to prevent rusting.

This is the story how I managed to cut my electric bill 74% over this winter. No I did not freeze my balls off. I kinda hate the cold so the idea of sitting around shivering or having to stay bundled up all winter did not appeal to me at all. No I remained nice and toasty all winter long while averaging a monthly electric bill of $55.32.
