Wood Stoves For a Tiny House

I like wood heat. I like the dry heat from it. The way it soaks into you. I like the sound of wood crackling. I love to watch the flames dance. I want a wood burning stove in my tiny house. This is proving a difficult search though. If money was no option I know what I would buy. I live in the real world though and I have a budget. A small one.

Even here in the south heat is important. I don’t want to go cheap and freeze. I don’t want to a shoddy stove that burns me down either. My tiny house is 12×20 so a normal sized stove is too much heat. Although easy to find on craigslist they are too big. I don’t have the space for something to eat up that much room. I’ve done some research that I will share with you.

Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil

A while back the good folks at Tropical Traditions sent me a jar of coconut oil for review. I have used it a while now. I’m finally ready to do the review. I’ll also go over some reasons why coconut oil is a must have prep.

Fat’s are an often overlooked prep. Many store their beans, rice and wheat. All stores of carbohydrate. Easily storable. Protein has options too. Mountain house meat and beef jerky are options. For fats people usually grab some things of vegetable oil. They might get olive oil on the higher end. Neither are the best option.

Just storing calorie is not enough. You could store nothing but snickers and twinkies. Junk food is cheap and last a long time. Eating it though you will not last a long time. We need to make smarter choices in our food storage. Coconut oil is one easy way to do that.

Voting Is a Waste Of Time

While recording the podcast the other night I went off on a rant. The rant was on voting and government in general. To be honest it could have consumed the rest of the show. It was voting day 11/4/2014. My Facebook is filled with politically charged posts. Urging other to get out and vote. Screaming that your vote can make a difference. Fools. You make yourself feel good thinking you are making a difference by clicking a button. By choosing one idiot over another. Voting is a complete waste of time. Today I’ll tell you why.

First I want to apologize for this episode. I had trouble giving the quality you have come to expect. I am feeling a little under the weather but did not want to miss an episode. With that said you get to hear some excellent rants on voting and politics today. I go way off on a tangent and get angry. Which in turn fired up Mike. The main topic of the show is on DIY.

The News today was on The IRS over taxing legal marijuana shops. In some case over 100% tax rate. Mike picked another news story from cracked. We discuss 8 health foods that are bad for you. Mostly I get angry at the Author and bash her article.
