I got the chance to review the new paleo cook book Make Ahead Paleo by Tammy Credicot. First off this book is gorgeous. The pictures in this book will make you so hungry. I also loved the creativity in the recipes. The book is absolutely true to paleo and has no recipes that contain grains, gluten, dairy, soy, legumes (well I think I saw a green been recipe) or cane sugar. The other big difference in this book is that it is aimed at what many of us do which is prepare meals ahead of time and freeze them. Having a healthy meal ready to go when you are hungry can be a life saver. In the book there are over 100 beautifully photographed recipes. It comes with inventory sheets to keep track of the frozen meals. Recipes for your slow cooker to have wonderful meals for you waiting at home. Recipes to take on the road and meals you can make in your hotel room, so you never have an excuse for not eating well. For many who are not great at making up dishes this book will really help you create wonderful meals ahead of time. If you’re looking for a new paleo cook book then I suggest grabbing a copy of Make Ahead Paleo when it goes on sale September 24th! Now let me share a favorite recipe from the book with you.

I love DIY. Some of you may know this. The reason though is pretty simple. I’m a cheap ass. So when coming up with a DIY project I take in a lot of info and condense it down to the cheapest, easiest method. I’m a lazy DIY’er so I find the easiest way to do something. I goggled around for a while and found the easiest way. So let’s get down to making some laundry detergent.

Survivalpunk Store Now Open For Business

The Survivalpunk Store is now open for business. I decided that It was time I threw up a quick and dirty web store. Before I was having people PayPal me via Facebook or being super punk and selling from my car. While this worked well I like to make things easier, even if that easier approach took an entire day to set up. I put the announcement out on Facebook first but thought a blog post would catch those that swear off FB. The store is about as simple as things get. The shop shows the three items I have for sale. Men’s T Shirts, Ladies Shirts and the new patches. You click the add to cart button and it takes you to the shopping cart with your merch added. Once on the cart you can click the paypal button to be redirected to paypal. It’s not the prettiest webstore but it i simple and works. Also to make things easy I don’t charge shipping. I tried to talk Kelly Gendrou from Survivalgear bags into making a Survivalpunk Shop to save me the hassle. Maybe when I make it big I’ll pawn it off. The Wayward Journey

I put this off this review for a little bit longer than I should have. I’m pretty peculiar on the books I like. This book just was not my cup of tea. It had elements in it I liked but overall it didn’t sit right. I would recommend The Wayward Journey over any of Rawles books which I’ve grown to hate with a passion. This book was entertaining enough to finish and had some good parts so lets get into the review.

Back From My Short Break And New Things

First I want to apologize for the absence last week. It was unplanned and very needed. I have a lot of things going on and the creative juices were not flowing. I didn’t want to put put out half assed crap, so I chose to take a break. Not that I didn’t to anything for the site during that time. I had some grand ideas, have some new merchandise on the way, started forming some plans and also squeezed in some rest and cleared my head some.
