EDC Made Easy

I had an idea to make edc simple and streamlined but subtle. I didn’t want to be sporting around a Batman utility belt. I also didn’t want to got the fanny pouch route. I know Nutnfancy wears one and says to get over it. Well I’m not getting over it and I think I found a better solution that will not make you stand out as a weirdo or tourist. My solution give you the ability to carry a few extra items that you need everyday.I’m still working out the kinks and on the items that work best but I’ll go ahead and share what I have so far.

Lessons From the Storm

So last night at work we had some amazing storms. Wind strong enough to snap trees and throw stuff around the parking lot. The storm caused the power to go out for about four hours. All in all it was a pretty bad night. Things turned out well and we got everything taken care of. But it was a serious test and I found out what of my edc worked well, what didn’t and what was seriously lacking.

Streamlight PT 2L Review

Today I have a review of my favorite EDC flashlight. It is the Streamlight PT 2L. The PT 2L is a small tactical flashlight weighing in at only 2.8 oz and 4.68 inches in length. For its small size it puts out an incredible 180 lumens. The PT 2L runs off of two CR123A Lithium batteries. It has three modes: Hi (180 Lumens for 2.5 hours) Low (50 lumens for 50 hours) and a strobe mode  (up to  6 hours). It is waterproof to 1 meter for thirty minutes.

Whether you carry a gun everyday or not, it’s a good idea to also carry a less lethal method of protection on your person as well. As an example you may be in a situation where you are being assaulted by an unarmed person where using a gun or knife to defend yourself may be considered excessive force – in a situation like this pepper spray may be a good option if it is legal in your area.
