Coconu Personal Lubricant For Survival

Did todays title scare you off? I hope not it’s going to be a fun review of Coconu personal lubricant with  interesting findings. I came across Coconu on Twitter one day. They were looking for blog testers to review  their product. I never turn down a chance to review something, and I thought I had a unique idea for it.So I contacted Coconu about testing it out. They were very excited to see  how a survival blog was going to review sex lube. If you are too stick around and find out.

299 Days

The main topic of this week is all about the 299 Days book series by Glen Tate. The series follows Grant, his family and friends as America suffers a partial collapse. How Grant came to become a prepper and hide it. The building of a small community. I like how the book goes into the politics of a small community on a much deeper level than other books I’ve read. Glen’s  299 Days books, I feel, are the new gold standard in prepper/ survival fiction. The characters in 299 Days all feel alive and unique, with flaws and weaknesses. The 299 days books don’t come off as a survival manual but rather great fiction with nuggets of info slipped in.

Fieldline Tactical Daypack

This  daypack review is a long time in the making. I have owned this Fieldline Tactical pack for over a year and used and abused the hell out of it. I have taken it on hikes, quick camp trips, Mardi Gras and whenever I need to take things along. I mainly use it now to carry my podcasting gear to Mikes every week. So this daypack has been put through the ringers and today I’ll let you know how it fared.

My Three Things: Organizational Tip

Sometimes things really click with me. While watching a Wranglerstar called my three things I had this happen. It was a video I almost didn’t bother watching. He started talking about using it to keep his shop clean and my eyes glazed over. I am a pretty messy guy and the thought of cleaning does not appeal to me. I let the video run a bit then it sank in. I’ll embed the video for you to watch. So what are the three things, why did it click and how’s it working?

Hobo Can Pot Holder Mini Post

My buddy Todd over at Survival Sherpa reprinted my hobo can stove project way back in December 2012. He had a comment on it recently wanting to see how the pot holder worked. It seems that in my pictures the flames are hiding them. He shot me an email to see if I could shoot a picture of it. Well I no longer have that stove but told him I would build on a new one to take pictures of. Figured while I was at it I would post it here in case any of you have the same question.

Making a pot holder on these hobo stoves is super easy. I use steel tent pegs that I carry anyway for tarps. First line up where they will go on the can. I like them to angle in towards each other. Make sure that at the widest part your pot can’t fall through. I find that pots are more stable with the pegs at an angle than parallel.

Use a marker to mark where you will drill the holes for the pegs.

I like to use a hole punch to keep the drill bit from walking on me.

Punch Press the marks

Next drill your holes to slightly bigger than the pegs and your done.

Hope this helps clarify how it works. Thanks and get busy building. DIY 2 Survive!
