Oklahoma Tornado 2013 Charity Drive

On Monday May 20th 2013 a rare EF5 tornado tore through Moore, Oklahoma. The peak winds were estimates at 210 miles per hour. Twenty four people were killed and over 377 injured during it’s 39 minutes on the ground. A 17 mile long path of destruction was cleaved through the town. I feel for those that were lost during the storm and the many that was now homeless. Even being a prepper there is little you can do against a tornado. If your house is completely destroyed there is only so much so can do. What can be done is to help out your fellow humans though. I’m sure the Red Cross is running a charity drive however I wouldn’t waste my money with them. I found one Charity Drive I completely trust and endorse. I’ve already donated to them and will try to give you reasons why you should as well.

Memorial Day

I would like to start this post by Thanking all of our service men and women. The decision to fight for your country and possibly die for it is big one and I respect all that made it. Though I do not agree with everything the government directs the soldiers to do I respect the men and women that protect America and keep it free. To all the brave souls that decided to take no more tyranny from the British and forge a new republic. To all the soldiers that take their oath to the constitution seriously and make the choice not to follow immoral and unconstitutional orders I give you a huge Thank you. Freedom is not free, it is a constant uphill battle to fight slipping into the ant lion hole of ever increasing tyranny. So keep all those that fought, died, came home not whole and who are still fighting in your thoughts.

I’m going to leave you with a song by Greg Yow. Many of you will recognize him as the voice of the Survivalpodcast theme song. All the songs are good but I want you to listen to the song “What Have You Done?” This song really resonates in me. Have a happy Memorial Day Everyone.

Pot Roast

Easy Paleo Slow Cooking

Recently I’ve been kicking around the idea of getting a slow cooker. I’ve seen several delicious looking slow cooker meals I want to try. At work the other day I figured out an even better and cheaper idea than getting a slow cooker. I got a dutch oven for Christmas and so far hadn’t got around to using it. By setting the oven to either 100~200 degrees I’ve just made a slow cooker. Probably better than the new ones being made anyway. Let me show you the simple and amazing meal I made in just a few minutes.

Welcome JM Bullion as the First Sponsor

Recently I was contacted by the JM Bullion company To see if I was interested in letting them be a paid sponsor on the blog. I am pretty picky about who I work with on the blog. There are a lot of shady prepper business on the web. I had no qualms with JM Bullion. I have seen them around the web and found out more when they became a sponsor on The Survival podcast. Looking around at the prices I see that they are very competitive if not lower on all their items. Lets learn a bit more about them.
